MAN DOWN!

X was having a bout of extreme irritability this evening. I was trying to cook dinner. I was carrying him around because the sound of his crying is like nails on a blackboard to my ears. As I was carrying cups of milk to the table they started to slip out of my hand. I attempted to toss them onto the table to partially save my freshly mopped floor. As I took the final step toward the table some milk splashed under my foot causing the above illustrated chain reaction...except picture a 2 month old baby in the left arm. I landed flat on my back/left elbow, and tried to curl around him. After I hit the ground X's little noggin bumped the floor slightly despite my desperate attempt to prevent it. He didn't seem to be hurt, just scared him. My entire kitchen was covered in milk, I can't straighten my left arm, and I expect my left hip/buttock will be turning a lovely shade of purple tomorrow.

*As happens so often, right before I picked up the milk cups I had sort of a flash of an image of them flying out of my hand, and I ignored it. Idiot.

If you can't straighten your arm, after a few days, you will need x-rays. Trust me on this one. Unfortunately, your arm will never be the same.

Oh, so sorry Erika! Hope you all are okay.
I hope not all premonitions like that come true. For years I have had one of my car being side wiped. If it does happen I hope I am the only one in the car.

I hope you and the baby are alright. I have learned over the years to heed those premonitions and pay close attention to them. Many times we have them for our own protection.
