Shell Jars

I finally bought a couple of glass Hurricanes for the girls' shells and sand from Florida. They worked meticulously on them yesterday afternoon. They turned out well. The $1.97 I spent on the jars was well worth it. They had a lot of fun for such a seemingly simple activity.Speaking of hurricanes...we're about to get hit by one. I need to start bringing in everything from the backyard. The kids will be having a camp out (or camp in) in our master bedroom closet tomorrow night. It is an interior room with no windows...works for me. We may be out of power for awhile. See you on the flip side.

Those jars are great, where did you purchase them?

And maybe you can tell me where a person can buy corkboard- or surely one of the crafty/artsy people you know may know that answer!?

Stay safe in that hurricane, he looks nasty! :-/

Thanks. The wind is starting to pick up and Galveston is already flooding.

Emily- I got the glass containers at Walmart for $1.97 each. Also, you can buy cork by the roll at Home Depot. It's usually in a hard to find spot though and you have to ask an employee to help you find it.

Awesome, I'll have to check that out, thanks so much! I've been looking online and we certainly didn't want to order cork as it's heavy and would be too much to ship.

We pray you're safe in this storm!!

Yeah I've seen the beaches where we go are already flooded too. I read on our local newspaper that they took a dump truck into one beach area to get the last few people there and they wouldn't leave! Crazy people! The authorities told them to make sure they write their social security numbers on their arms. So sad in my opinion.
