Halloween 2008

L and I carved her pumpkin and X's during the school day. She's deadly with a pumpkin saw.

J punching out her dragon pattern. They punched their patterns and asked me to saw them out. I tried to talk them into carving their own simple pattern, but they had high aspirations. So high in fact, that my smallest pumpkin saw gave up the ghost. She served me well for many a Halloween, it's time for a replacement.

They are wearing the tie dyed pumpkin shirts that we made last week. They didn't turn out exactly like they were supposed to, but they still liked them. This is the pose J struck when I said, "show me your shirt". She looks like she's having some sort of episode.

We made "witch's brew" drinks and personal pizzas before we got dressed and headed out.

We stopped to pillage and plunder Grammy's house first, then proceeded to trunk or treat.

As if this photo isn't bad enough, Daniel unwrapped the lollipop and gave it back to him! I'm pretty sure that is not an American Association of Pediatrics approved infant food.

I didn't have my tripod with me, so this is a blurry shot of some of the pumpkins.

We hope y'all had a great Halloween!

i'm kind of freaking out because L looks like she's 13 in that first picture! what happened to babyhood? :(

It's that darn haircut. She's also had a sudden change in behavior too. I'll have to knock on wood after I say it, but I think her terrible 2's are almost finished (since she started them at 18 months, that's a good thing).

I loved their shirts at school. C and I saw that parenting magazine, but I didn't think to actually do it!

Last year I bought an electric pumpkin saw. It's like the little ones that come with the kit, but much faster. You might look for it since you have four pumpkins to carve. The brand is Halloween Works.

You guys make adorable pirates. You could have won the contest at the Ren Fest yesterday!

Awesome Possum Pumpkins!! Love the dragon and sleeping Beauty. Really impressed. Where'd you get the patterns? We'll have to have a competition next year. :)

This year we did patterns from the Huggies website. In the past we've gotten them from Pumpkin, but they had to take down all their Disney patterns because of copyright stuff. Luckily I used the wayback machine to grab them. I don't know if I still have them on my hard drive though. I'm up for a challenge!

They are all so cute!! Love that picture of Daniel and X. And, what is a "wayback" machine? :)

I don't know exactly, but you can google it. It is basically where you can find cached copies of a large portion of the internet. So, I was able to see the site as it was before they removed the Disney images.
