Xander Turns 3!

It's true...our baby boy is 3 years old. He pretty much runs with the pack now, is obsessed with Spiderman and Thomas, has very clear opinions about everything, tells me how "stwong" he is every day while he scales the front of the kitchen cabinets or carries grocery bags, says please and thank you, is so close to being finished with potty training (but doesn't want to finish), and is turning into a much happier and less moody guy since the 2 year old angst is rapidly fading. We're looking forward to a fun year.

Due to our house being a complete construction disaster, we went with a nice little family party at Grammy & Grampy's house after church today. He also went on his 1st official Grammy birthday date on Friday...I hear it was a fun time.

Spiderman is his big thing at the moment, followed by Thomas, Diego, and Buzz Lightyear. So we went with a Spiderman theme.

Surrounded by his all girl fan club. coloring (blech!)

Xander discovers the joy of Pez...and immediately polishes off two packages.

Web nunchucks Spiderman. I believe he may shouting "Peeta Pakah!" (Peter Parker)
in this photo.

Spring Break

Want to look fat? Get your photo taken with your 27 pound kid while wearing swimwear and wet slicked down hair to accentuate your round face. But alas, there is one picture of me from spring break and this is it. P.S. What is with the hand, he rests it there ALL THE TIME. I'm not going to have any photos of him and I that don't involve boobage.

Spring break was several weeks ago and in an uncharacteristic move I didn't bring my real camera anywhere except Schlitterbahn. I do have some phone pictures that I'll add at the bottom of this post. Bella and Jules were not doing photo taking friendly water stuff, so I only have one photo of them outside of Schlitterbahn.

The other highlights of spring break were, Gnomeo and Juliet, mini-golf, BounceU, and the Natural Science Museum. It was a busy week, but the kids had fun...totally worth it. much handsome for 27 pounds and 36 inches. If he ever goes above the 5%ile on the weight chart it will be a miracle. At least he's rocking an average height. I blame myself for the skinny child gene.

Special Moment

I spotted this little moment going on a few days ago...and I sighed...and then I got a little teary eyed...and then I grabbed the camera. Luckily it went on for a few minutes so that I could get through the whole process of emotions and still take a couple of photos before it was over. How precious is this? These 2 have so much in common. Luckily, Julianne and Xander have a similar bond. Note to self...must get this girl a new piano sometime in the not so distant future. Grammy got her baby grand tuned up and a minor repair done last week and she sounds fantastic on it.

Climbing Rose

My climbing rose bush is going crazy. I bought it on an overnight trip that Daniel and I took for his birthday 2 summers ago. It was just a tiny little thing back then. A few days after I took these pictures it erupted with at least 100 roses blooming simultaneously, but I was too lazy to take another picture.

Major Construction

We have a major construction project going on here...MAJOR. I have been acting as project manager, unskilled labor, and photo documentarian (I think I just invented that word). Xander is all about the tools. He drilled his first screw today, I thought that was a moment worth capturing.Manly tool related conversation taking place here.

Using the drill for the first time ever.
